Hey! I know it has been a while since my last post but that is because I’ve been studying really hard to find out more about the world around us. In my recent studies I have found that the easiest way to help may be to simply be simple. Start with the basics. Do you remember these R words? Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle are basics. You learn you can do these things at such a young age you really don’t think much about them. Ask yourself, are you recycling plastic, cardboard, and other substances? Do you litter in the environment ( I hope you don’t )? Doing or not doing these simple actions can greatly improve the environment. One day take a trash bag outside and pick up trash in your neighborhood, park, or town. You don’t have to organize a large community cleanup. Just go outside and do it! You may think there is no point in doing these things. If that is the case then think about all the things we take for granted that nature provides for us. Trees, flowers, and other greenery give off oxygen that we breathe. They also consume carbon dioxide. Too much carbon dioxide is harmful for humans. When plants and animals die they decompose and make the soil rich with nutrition. This helps crops and other plants grow that humans may need. Big cities only make the Earth’s job more difficult. Humans cut down trees to pave roads. They destroy habitats to build towns. Fumes from cars pollute the air. Without their habitat or home animals have no where for shelter. Now can you see how just planting a few trees or picking up litter can help? Bird feeders, gardens, and ponds all help and give animals a home.

The rainforest is an incredible place it is home to many animals, plants, and fungus. Sadly, this amazing ecosystem has suffered because of humans like us. Every minute, every hour, and every day many trees are being cut down. I find it important that many people are aware of these circumstances. The more people that know, the more ways we can help. If you are interested in helping the environment or simply want to know more about the wondorous world around us I suggest you check this blog often. If you want more information and want to help in more ways then stay updated and maybe try checking out a few websites such as: nationalgeographic.com , or ocean.org , or oceana.org, or worldwildlife.org. Any of these websites may be helpful as you try to improve the Earth.

There are many types of fish in the ocean, but I would like to focus on one today. Sharks. Sharks are widely feared by many humans, but do they really deserve that? There are many shark species, and I am going to name as many as possible right now. Some more widely known species include the whale shark, great white, tiger shark, bull shark, nurse shark, basking shark, great hammerhead, and the smooth hammerhead. Along with these there are some less known sharks. This includes the goblin shark, shortfin mako shark, Blacktip shark, Greenland shark, frilled shark, megamouth shark, oceanic white tip shark, sand tiger shark, blue shark, whitetip reef shark, lemon shark, Caribbean reef shark, porbeagle, spiny dogfish, grey reef shark, scalloped hammerhead, blacktip reef shark, zebra shark, port Jackson shark, silky shark, cookiecutter shark, and the common thresher.
